I was wanting to have these visions of the creature to be abstract yet show some sense of an eerie presence. I looked at a few examples that I saw from games and comics which used hallucinations but in the form of silhouettes. I also looked at some clips of Dead Space 2 which has a strong theme of madness and mental instability.
